Dabur Vatika Enriched Olive Hair Oil Review
I miss those day when I had hip long hair and mumma used to drench them in oil just after hair wash, to keep them healthy and manageable. She used to bundle them in tight braid but I gave up on the length when the situation arrived to leave home for studies which meant, manage them on my own. It was scary to even think about that and I decided to get myself a haircut. Now, after years I am again bit by the Bug of Long hair where I am dreaming of achieving similar length. I can’t enjoy the luxury of mum taking care of my hair, pampering and spending hours on them (Marriage Side-effects.. 😉 ). A quick solution in this situation is to use multi-benefit oil that can provide adequate nourishment to my hair. I am not sure who communicated the same to Hair care brands but I am receiving all sorts of hair care products in PR samples these days and thankfully, they are working wonderfully on me. Today’s review is about another such hair care product in my arsenal, Dabur Vatika Enriched Olive Hair Oil.

Ingredients:
Price: Rs 60 for 100 ml , Rs 110 for 200 ml
Packaging: Vatika hair oil comes in a see through plastic bottle with a flip top green colored cap. The theme of the packaging is green which goes with the main ingredient “Olive” color, adding a positive feel to it. The cap locks tightly which wont let the liquid leak through the bottle hence making it travel friendly and easy to use.

My Experience with Dabur Vatika Olive Hair Oil:
Vatika Olive Hair Oil is an olive green color liquid with a light-weight, non-sticky texture. The consistency is runny similar to Almond one but not the thicker like mustard oil. I have used Figarro Olive oil in the past which was tad thicker than the Vatika one.
It has a strong herbal fragrance which is quite overwhelming and can be major put off for people who are sensitive to strong scents. Thankfully it doesn’t last long and fades away within minutes of application, not completely though but to bearable levels.
The product is enriched with the goodness of many skin-friendly ingredients which is a major plus. The main ingredient is Olive oil which penetrates deep into the roots and nourishes hair. It also contains Aloe Vera which helps in retaining moisture and soothes scalp. Almond oil for added moisturization and strengthening roots and hibiscus to control hair fall and put a tab on dandruff. All these ingredients help in resolving various hair problems.
The product is absolutely comfortable on my scalp and hasn’t caused me any itching or irritation. The light texture gets easily absorbed and also makes it suitable for summers as well. I am using along with Sunsilk Natural Recharge Shampoo & Conditioner and both are working quite effectively. My hair has restored their lustrous shine, become more manageable and my hair fall has reduced to a great extent.

Pros of Dabur Vatika Enriched Olive Hair Oil:
- Runny Consistency
- Non-Sticky Texture
- Light-weight Formula
- Controls Hair fall
- Contains goodness of Olives, Almonds, Aloe Vera and Hibiscus
- Doesn’t cause any itching
- Pocket friendly Price
- Sturdy packaging
- Easily available in stores
Cons of Dabur Vatika Enriched Olive Hair Oil:
- Strong Smell
- Doesn’t mention the exact % of Olive Oil
- I could trace Silicones ( Dimeticone) in ingredients List
Recommendation: Dabur Vatika Enriched Olive Hair Oil makes excellent hair oil for my scalp and dry hair ends. I always stick to natural oils specifically Almond Oil for it light weight texture but the Vatika Hair oil has come as a nice change to my hair care routine. It contains nourishment of Olives and almonds with added benefits of Aloe Vera and Hibiscus. I just wish for the ingredients list to be a little clearer so that I can make the actual presence of all the natural ingredients but as it works wonderfully for my dull hair, i am happy. If you are okay with its strong Herbal fragrance I will definitely recommend you to try this. You can start with the small bottle to ascertain the results on you.
