The Body Shop Extra Virgin Minerals Powder Foundation Brush Review

The Body Shop Extra Virgin Minerals Powder Foundation Brush Review

For the last 2 years I have been trying to lay my hand on this brush but every time I visit the stores I have to come back home disappointed as they didn’t have it in stock especially during sales. I have lost hope of buying this much loved brush over a discount but the luck was by my side this time and I grabbed it at 50% off… yaayyy!! This is one of the best Kabuki brush and yes it is available in India too ;). So, lets see if this The Body Shop Extra Virgin Minerals Powder Foundation Brush is worth the hype.

Product Claims: A high density, super soft brush for use with Extra Virgin Minerals™ Powder Foundation

  • Super-soft synthetic hair
  • Cruelty-free
  • For use with Extra Virgin Mineral™ Powder foundation.
  • Gives an even, flawless finish

Direction for Use: Work the brush into the powder, tap off excess and apply to the face in circular motions

Price:- Rs.1495

Packaging:- It comes with black colored pouch with a flip cap but the pouch barely serves any purpose as it doesn’tclose properly, wish The Body Shop had invested some more money and mind while designing its cover. The brush has sturdy matte black base which gives nice control during application.

My experience with The Body Shop Minerals Powder Foundation Brush:-

The Body Shop Extra Virgin Minerals Powder Foundation Brush or you can the TBS kabuki brush is a super dense brush with brunette (caramel) colored hair and dark black tips which gives it a duo–fiber look. The bristles feel silky soft against the skin which makes makeup application process even more enjoyable. They are densely packed but aren’t stiff and move around the face with super-ease.

The brush has a slight dome shape which allows the bristles to pick just the right amount of product. Swirl the brush in the pressed powder pan or dip the tip lightly in the powder tub, tap off the excess and move around the face in large circular motion. It applies the product evenly on the face giving a smooth polished look. I have used it with INGLOT Pressed Powder and NYX Loose Powder, and it works excellently with both of them!

Recently, I used it with Colorbar Shimmer Brick in Coral Hint as blush brush and was astonished to see how well it works in giving that seamless blended blusher application. It diffuses the product beautifully on cheeks giving that naturally colored look and not a blob of color placed over the cheek bone.

Not only powder products, the brush did a great job with liquid foundation application, I used it with MAC Face and Body which itself is quite light and spreads nicely  but I feel even the heavier ones like Prolong wear and Match master can be handled easily by this amazing brush!

Coming to the quality, the brush is made of synthetic bristles with super soft texture. It does shed a few hairs initially with first wash but I haven’t seen even a single stray hair since then. I have washed it 4-5 times and the quality, shape and color of the bristles is as good as new. Being a dense brush it takes quite long to dry completely but in with temperatures soaring as high as 47 degrees, rest assured to have a dry brush within 4-5 hours.

Pros of The Body Shop Minerals Powder Foundation Brush:-

  1. Bristles are densely packed
  2. Super Soft bristles
  3. Rounded top works excellently for blending
  4. Can be used as Powder, Blusher or Foundation brush
  5. Distributes product evenly
  6. Top notch quality
  7. Doesn’t shed
  8. Comes with a pouch
  9. Also available in Angled form

Cons of The Body Shop Minerals Powder Foundation Brush:-

  1. High Price
  2. Out of stock during sale season

Recommendation:- The Body Shop Extra Virgin Minerals Powder Foundation Brush is a multi-purpose kabuki brush which can be used for Pressed powders, loose powders, foundations or even blusher application, basically anything or everything you would like to blend seamlessly on your face. The super soft round fluffy bristles feels comfortable against skin. The quality is excellent and worth investing, one of the best powder brushes. I absolutely love this brush and have become a must-have for me. I am already planning to grab another piece and its angled version in the next sale. Highly Recommended!

Rating:- 4.8/5
