Hello Everyone,

How often do you change your mascara’s? Well it should ideally be 6 months as the mascara starts getting traumatic after that and will give a crappy application.. if forced like clumpy and spider lashes. That is honestly something that keeps me away from investing in high end mascaras as the shelf life is just 6 months. L I try to be loyal to 1 -2 mascaras at a time so that I don’t have a bunch expiring and ready to be thrown all at once.

After a long break from buying mascaras I ended up getting the travel sized version in a blog sale last year and it was waiting for its turn since then 😛 . I so wanted to grab that Better than S*x one but well I guess i have to wait for it a bit more and till then enjoy this travel sized “Benefit Bad Gal Lash Mascara“. So, Today I will be reviewing my first benefit product, the Benefit Bad Gal Lash Mascara.

Product Claims:

What it is:

• This magic mascara is like a set of sexy black false eyelashes…without the glue! With its famously big brush and volumizing formula, this matte-black mascara builds beautiful, bodacious lashes

Direction for Use:

• Wiggle the wand at the base of lashes then sweep upward from root to tip.
• Layer for added drama.

Packaging: Benefit Bad Gal Lash Mascara comes in simple black packaging with a chubby rubber wand. The spikes on the wand are placed distantly.

My Experience with Benefit Bad Gal Lash Mascara:

Wand: Benefit Bad Gal Lash Mascara comes with a big rubber wand and spiral spikes. The wand is good and large enough to covers all the lashes in one go, so I find it fairly easy to work up on the lashes but it can be a bit of work to cover the inner corner lashes. There is big blob on tip when the wand is pushed out of bottle so make sure to get rid of blob before reaching out to corner to cover those tiny hair.

Formula: The formula is medium thick which gives a hassle free application. I can go for 2-3 coats and even more easily as it doesn’t clump. In a single coat it just gives a barely there thickened lash look. The mascara doesn’t add much of a length to my lashes, neither did I experience any dramatic addition in volume of lashes as well. They look just a little darkened and naturally voluminous in 1-2 coats

The Mascara can be layered easily as I see no clumping even with 3-4 coats on the lashes. The lashes starts looking denser and voluminous with every coats and actually notice some visually appealing length and density with 4 -5 coats. But girls that’s hell lot of effort. I would prefer dramatic lashes with a max of 2 coats. 😛

Results: I kind of liked the natural lashes effect on my eyes but I was missing the dramatic volume and length that it claims to give. Also, the formula is not water proof but it doesn’t run down the eyes when wet until rubbed. It holds curls for 3-4 hours and doesn’t make lashes look crispy which I prefer for daily use. It is a good regular mascara that makes you lashes appear decently thick and long.

Removal: It is easy to remove the traces of mascara from lashes. Any of the regular Makeup Remover can do the job.

Pros of Benefit Bad Gal Lash Mascara:

2. Doesn’t make lashes crunchy
3. Lashes look naturally thick
4. Big wand covers lashes easily
5. Can be layered as many times as you want
6. No clumping or flaking
7. Removes easily
8. Good for everyday use

Cons of Benefit Bad Gal Lash Mascara:

1. Heavy on Pocket
2. Difficult to cover inner lashes
3. Needs to be layered heavily for dramatic lashes

Recommendation: Benefits BAD Gal Lash Mascara makes my lashes naturally thick but do not expect any dramatic lash effect as it doesn’t add much volume or length to lashes. It makes great everyday mascara which applies easily and gives a clump-free application which I totally love. I would have given it better rating had there had been no such claims of dramatic lashes 😛 . Recommended if you are looking for a daily use mascara but are you sure you want to pay this much for a regular mascara :P.
