Neutrogena Sensitive Skin Sunscreen – SPF 60+ Review

Neutrogena Sensitive Skin Sunscreen – SPF 60+ Review

There is lot of Neutrogena sunscreens available here with varying SPF in Ultra-sheer range both cream and spray versions but I got caught by this plain white tube. So, here is my review on Neutrogena Sensitive Skin Sunscreen – SPF 60+.

Product Claims:

Ingredients:-

Price:- $8.79 for 88ml

Shelf Life:- 2 years from the Mfg date.

Packaging:-  The sunscreen comes in a sturdy white plastic tube type packaging with flip top cap.

My experience with Neutrogena Sensitive Skin Sunscreen – SPF 60+  :

Neutrogena Sunscreen has a mousse cream like texture which goes on smoothly but takes time to get absorbed completely into the skin. Initially it creates a whitish cast, may be due to the presence of zinc oxide, so I need to massage it well but even after rubbing it for few minutes it feels greasy accompanied by a shiny layer.

It is a bit heavy for hot summer days, so I would suggest not following with any other cream based makeup, just pat some loose or compact powder to get rid of the greasiness and say hello to “SUN” with confidence. It is a heavy duty sunscreen which will save your skin from harsh sun rays but you have to bear with its greasiness and slight whitish cast.

The sunscreen claims to be fragrance-free but it has a faint rubbery-chemical scent which may bother sensitive noses. It contains zinc oxide and titanium dioxide as active ingredients which are effective sunscreens and are recommended by most dermatologists over chemical based sunscreens.

Earlier I have used Neutogena Ultra Sheer Dry touch sunblockwhich was an effective sunscreen too but was tad more greasy.

Pros of Neutrogena Sensitive Skin Sunscreen – SPF 60+:-

  1. Spreads nicely
  2. Doesn’t irritate my skin
  3. Provides broad spectrum UVA/UVB protection
  4. Water resistant
  5. Suitable for sensitive skin
  6. Hygienic packaging
  7. Zinc oxide and Titanium dioxide are active ingredients
  8. Couldn’t spot any Parabens in the ingredients list

Cons of Neutrogena Sensitive Skin Sunscreen – SPF 60+:-

  1. Creates a whitish Cast
  2. Feels greasy
  3. Nasty smell

Recommendation:- Neutrogena Sensitive Skin Sunscreen – SPF 60+ has a light creamy texture which spreads nicely but needs to be massaged well to get rid of the initial white cast it creates. It won’t get absorbed completely and will leave behind a shiny layer on your face. It has nasty fragrance which thankfully is on the milder side and vanishes in few minutes post-application. Overall, decent sunscreen which provides effective sun protection but I would have preferred a lighter/shine-free formula. Recommended!

Rating:- 4/5
