My experience with NYX Eye shadow base – White Pearl ESB02:-

Packaging:- The base comes in a tiny round glass jar with a white colored plastic lid. Complete ingredients list is pasted at the bottom of the little glass jar. The clear jar looks really cute but isn’t hygienic to use. It doesn’t come with an applicator and I have to dip fingers into the product which makes it prone to contamination.

Base:- It is a white cream base containing lots of fine silver shimmers and hint of pink and green specs. The shimmers are well blended with the creamy base and are smooth in texture which gives a beautiful pearly finish to eye shadow base in the pot.

Formula:- It is a soft and creamy eye shadow base which gets applied easily over the lids and blends well all over the lid area. The quality of the eye shadow base is really nice which is just creamy enough to give a smooth application.

Pigmentation:-Initially, it appears to be a silvery white base but when blended it goes sheer leaving only shimmers behind. I totally love the mesmerizing shimmery finish it gives to the applied area.

Swatches:-

Effect:-It adds lovely shine to any matte or dull looking eye shadow. The colors look intense and vibrant when applied over this base. It also increases the stay of eye shadows on my not so oily lids and prevents them from creasing to some extent.

Under Revlon Custom Eyes- Rich Temptations Green eye shadow

The pot might appear smaller in size but the amount of cream it contains is going to last for years and I don’t think I would be able to hit the base in its life time.

EOTD:- I have this NYX White Pearl Eye shadow Base under two light eye shadows from Bourjois.

  1. Bourjois Ombre a paupiers Rose Tentation Eye shadow
  2. Bourjois Smokey Trio – Lady Vert De Gris

Pros of NYX Eye shadow base – White Pearl ESB02:-

  1. Affordable
  2. Quantity will last forever
  3. Creamy formula which blends nicely over the lid area
  4. Love the striking pearly finish of this base which I wear occasionally as a silver eye shadow.
  5. Boost up the color of any lightly pigmented eye shadow.
  6. Make the eye shadow last longer and delays the creasing by 2-3 hours.

Cons of NYX Eye shadow base – White Pearl ESB02:-

  1. Won’t be a good choice for oily lids as it a creamy base which might crease early on them
  2. Pot packaging
  3. Limited availability in India. Have to get it from one of the online shopping websites only.

Recommendation:- NYX Eye shadow base – White Pearl ESB02 is a creamy white color eye shadow base with finely milled silver shimmers which renders pretty pearly finish to the base. It smoothens out easily over the lids. It is creamy so I would suggest to dust a bit of pressed or compact powder over the base before applying the eye shadow.

It works well in improve the color pay off of lightly pigmented eye shadows. I haven’t used any expensive brand so really can’t compare but it did a decent job in preventing the eye shadows from creasing and made them stay longer on the lids. It is a nice budget friendly eye shadow base. Recommended!

    • I was like you only till few months back. Then one of friend persisted me to try E/S and I hesistantly tried.. but was supper happry to see her response and from then on.. I keep E/s atleast 2-3 times a week on me.. sometimes subtle sometimes colorful.. love them...
Hmm.. may be you are right abt skin tone.. but is more of a base for concealing u must try concealers..
      Thanks for ur lovely commentt..
Do u have severe dark circles??
One fact:- ur name is similar to my childhood best friendd.. :)

  • Hahahhah.. so may be we will becum blogger best frnds.. BBFs just like BFFs.. ;) and yep, I hv tried many times. But somehow from past one year or so, I have started feeling that they make the hood of my eye look really bad. May be I need to change the technique or smthing. Do sm step by step tutorial of urs. May be I will give it another try after that. :) And abt dark circles, nope they are not very dark, bt still if I stop using eye cream even for one day, they start looking really bad. :(

which under-eye cream do you use dear??

  • I hv been using aroma magic since last 2 years n it's wonderful. hv used sm other herbal barnds in past like himalaya.. garnier types bakwas ones too. bt gel of aroma magic kinda suits me really well. plus it's dirt cheap, so i stayed loyal for it. ;)

    • He he u r a true Aroma Magic fan.. I have used its Aroma magic under eye cream but didnt liked it much as it feels slightly oily. I liked Oriflame seeing is believing multi benefits under eye cream very much...
Himalaya products never worked for me.. and Garnier I havent tried anything other than its Body Lotion.. :)
Will try the Aroma Magic Gel version pretty soon.. :)

  • hw's oriflame one? abt aroma magic, i hv tried the gel one only. i guess cream one is for very mature skin, may be tht's y u found it to be too oily.

    • I really liked the Oriflame one, no oily slicky layer and moisturises my under eye area pretty well too. I also does a good job at hiding those dark circles but they start poking as soon as I stop using the cream. :|
I guess you are right abt the Aroma magic cream version... not good for me.. will gift that to mum.. :):)
