Nivea Fruity Shine Lip Balm-Pomegranate Review, Swatches, LOTD

My Maybelline Lip Bloom Lip Balm was about to get over or can I say I was half way through the stick :P.  The Lip balm was not intensely moisturizing and the glossy effect last only for an hour or two on the lips. I have slightly pigmented lip so I prefer tinted lip balms over the regular ones. Hence, I wanted to try a better tinted lip balm which can provide more moisturisation to my lips.

Although, I don’t have extremely dry or chapped lips but spending full 8-10 hours in AC sucks all the moisturisation leaving my lips craving for more. Thinking of lip balms, the first name that came to my mind was “Nivea”. Nivea has been delivering wonderful lip care products since years and as I was looking for a tinted lip balm I chose Nivea Fruity Shine Lip Balm-Pomegranate.

Product Claims: Delicious fruity extracts combined with smoothing, long lasting care for lips. Enjoy the fruity colors with shimmering pigments. They highlight your lips, while the caring formula provides moisture and protects your lips from drying out.

Packaging:-The lip balm comes in a fatty twist-up stick type packaging contrary to other lip balms that are struggling to fit into slimmer (read size-Zero) tubes. The balm has a white roller with a large shimmery maroon colored cap. The large cap fits with a click sound to the base and you can roam around freely without worrying about the lipbalm spoiling your hand bag.

My experience with Nivea Fruity Shine Lip Balm-Pomegranate:-

The lip balm stick is also deep Red in color similar to the cap and looks like a lipstick at first glance. The stick also has silver shimmers in it but the shimmers are tiny and not gritty or coarse.

Though it appears like a dark maroon lipstick in the stick, it goes sheer on the lips and instead of giving a red tint it gives a nice pinkish tint to the lips which looks very natural. The lip balm can be layered on to increase the intensity of the tint. The lip balm is extremely soft and melts like butter and doesn’t feel gooey or waxy.

The lip balm gives a glossy touch to the lips so it is a balm cum gloss. The shimmers are unnoticeable on the lips but add a little shine which is a plus. The lips appear luscious and extremely kissable ;).

Swatches:-

Though the shine and the gloss subside within hour of application but it keeps the lips moisturized for another 3-4 hours. The only thing that I disliked with this lip balm is its strong candy kinds smell which definitely nowhere near pomegranates. Personally, I am not a big fan of sweet smells and hated the smell at first but now I got used to it.

Pros of Nivea Fruity Shine Lip Balm-Pomegranate:-

  1. Packaging is slightly bulky but I really like the tube type packaging over tubs for lip balms as they are easy to carry around in your pocket and reapply
  2. Gives a gorgeous natural looking pinkish tint to the lips.
  3. Extremely soft in texture which goes light on the lips and doesn’t feel heavy at all
  4. Moisturizes my lips very well for 4-5 hours and makes them soft and smooth
  5. Though it is a lip balm but it gives a nice gloss to the lips.
  6. Doesn’t leave any white layer.
  7. No unwanted tingling sensation.
  8. Contains SPF 10 to provide protection to Lips
  9. Available at a pocket friendly price.
  10. Comes in 5 fruity variants. So a lot to choose from.

Cons of Nivea Fruity Shine Lip Balm-Pomegranate:-

  1. Strong sweet smell which may not be liked by everyone.
  2. It works well for my not so dry lips but those with chapped and dry lip might have to reapply it frequently
  3. The lip balm contains fine silver shimmers though they are fine but plain lip balm could have also served the purpose.
  4. Tint may not be visible on extremely pigmented lips.

Recommendation:- Nivea Fruity Shine Lip BalmPomegranate  gives a nice glossy, natural looking pinkish tint to the lips. It is a decent moisturizing tinted lip balm that comes in easy to use tube type packaging and an affordable price.

I am already eying to get its Strawberry and Guava flavors on my next trip. What abt you!
