Earlier I reviewed the L’Oreal Color Riche Caresse Lipstick in Cherry Tulle which a sheer glossy Red lip color. Today I am reviewing another gorgeous Cora-pink lip color from the same range “L’Oreal Color Riche Caresse Lipstick in Sunset Angora.

Packaging:- These L’Oreal lipsticks has the best ever packaging. It comes in an exclusive golden painted metallic body in rectangular shape and has a mirror-like finish. It has coloured plastic band near the base indicating shade of the lipstick. The shade indicator carrying shade number and name is pasted at the bottom of the packaging. The long cap secures tightly with the base with a satisfactory click sound. The magnificent packaging reminds me of high-end lipsticks like Estee Launder and YSL. Though this glossy packaging is more prone to finger-prints but I like the look and feel of it.. so opulent!

My experience with L’Oreal Color Riche Caresse Lipstick – Sunset Angora:-

Sunset Angora is a gorgeous coral pink colour with barely there shimmers and shows some peachy undertones when swiped on lips. It doesn’t exactly wash me out but I do look pale and my cheeks crave for blush, so you can make this work with lots of pinky blush. It can easily tone down the heavy eye makeup and bring a balance to your face but will look prettier with a pink blush. It is a great color for fairer to fairest skin tones but not a flattering shade for Indian skin tones.

The texture is silky smooth which just slips on lips and it’s non-sticky, light-weight formula gives a pleasant application. The lipstick feels moisturising to the lips and wears comfortably but lips must be in a good shape for an even application. It will turn patchy, flake, settle in fine lines and accentuate every little imperfection on dry/chapped lips, so wear it on well exfoliated and moisturized lips for a smoother application.

The lipstick yield sheer coverage and even after swiping it 7-8 times I could still see my lip color beneath the lipstick layer. The color payoff is bit deeper than a tinted lip balm but nowhere near the opacity of a regular lipstick. I am dissatisfied with its pigmentation but I like its shiny finish. The gloss however doesn’t last long and wears off within an hour, so you have reach out to the lipstick for reapplication. The color too wears off pretty fast and within 2-3 hours you could only detect a hint of pink stain on lips.

Swatch-

The lipstick has a very faint sweet fruity fragrance similar to fruity lip balms but it goes away in a while.

LOTD–

I tried to make this color work for me and used it as a top coat over a bright fuchsia pink lipstickMaybelline Jewels Berry Brilliant and the result was lovely rosy pink lips with a glossy sheen.

The glossy finish and the slippery texture remind me of Revlon Lip butters (though I don’t own any but read a lot about them and from one of my friend’s experience). Revlon lip butters were comparatively softer and melted on lips during application unlike these which are less waxy and have more gloss & shine but slightly less color.

1. Lips must be exfoliated and well moisturized for a perfect application
2. Highlight lips imperfection
3. Sheer coverage
4. Wears off fast
5. Not yet available in India

Recommendation:- L’Oreal Color Riche Caresse Lipstick in Sunset Angora can make a nice wearable coral-pink lip color, good alternative to n*de/peachy lip colors but only for fair-skinned ladies. It is quite a unique shade which isn’t easily available across brands, but it doesn’t compliment Indian skin tones well and would mostly wash them out. The sheer color and slightly patchy application is a big turn off but I like its glossy finish and moisturizing formula. I love this color but not on me!!!
