Essence 3D Eye Shadow Irresistible Choco Cupcake Review

When it comes to affordable eye shadows most of the Indian drugstore brands have very limited number of shades and they generally fail to deliver the quality with the eye shadows being chalky, super hard or poor color payoff. INGLOT is an exception but it is not really a drugstore brand and its not easily available everywhere. During my search of affordable makeup in India I came across this brand which has been delivering quality products at budget friendly prices, “Essence”. I liked that it has a good range of eye shadows and that why I planned to test out few of its products. So, today I will be reviewing an eye shadow duo from Essence, Essence 3d Eye Shadow Irresistible Choco cupcake

Product Claims: big talent with an improved texture: even softer and easier to blend, the special relief structure offers an ultimate 3D look and creates a cool finish with a 3D effect – from satin to metallic to shimmering – upon application. applied moist, the 3D duo eyeshadow guarantees even more intense results.

Packaging :- The eye shadow duo comes in a round glass pan packaging with a see through lid that help in picking out the shades in case your own multiples. There are two eye shadows in the pan drawn out in a wave pattern that reminds me of MAC Mineralize Eye Shadows. There is no separator between the shade but doesn’t make any difference to me. I quite liked the sturdy and travel-friendly packaging

My experience with Essence 3D Eye Shadow Irresistible Choco Cupcake:-

Shade: Irresistible Choco Cupcake has a combination of a dark chocolaty brown shade in pearly metallic finish with bronze shimmers and a frosted pearl finish pale beige shade. The duo works wonderfully together for doing a simple brown eye makeup where the darker shade can be used all over the lids and the lighter one as inner corner highlighter.

Formula: Essence 3d Eye Shadow has silky smooth texture that is creamy soft to touch. The texture is finely milled and with shimmers blended smoothly into the base. There is slight fallout during application because of the super soft texture. The formula blends like a dream and with just few strokes over the crease I get a soft transitioned color but it looses its intensity and I have to pack a bit more once done with the blending.

Pigmentation: The color payoff is intense and with just one swipe over the eye shadow I get a super rich color on my finger. On lids, I need to pack the color in patting motion to get a color true to the pan. It gets super opaque when used wet or over a primer but even without any of these I liked how rich the color was.

Finish: The eye shadow has a beautiful shimmery pearly finish. The dark chocolate shade has a mix of pearly finish and bronze shimmers which adds to the reflecting shine of the shade without being glittery or overly shimmery. The champagne shade again has a frosted pearl finish with silver shimmers for added shine but the shimmers are so smooth that it a beautiful metallic shine to the shades,.

Staying Power: The eye shadows when used directly on lids start creasing in 4-5 hours of wear with slight fading on my slightly oily lids. It lasts better over a primer and oily lids have to use one for decent wear time.

Quick Tips:

• To avoid fallout during application: Tap off excess from the brush before applying.
• For best application: Either use finger tip or a flat shading brush to pack the color on lids and then use a fluffy brush to blend in the harsh lines.

Recommendation:- Essence 3D Eye Shadow Irresistible Choco Cupcake is a sizzling combo of dark brown and light beige shade in a superb pearly sheen and metallic shine owing to the finely milled shimmers in the formula. The satin smooth texture applies beautifully and blends magically on the lids. The staying could have made it the best but it can be worked upon by using a primer underneath. Overall, a great duo for an instant glam brown eye looks. Recommended!
