Doubts Discussion- Best Hair Care Range for Dry/Frizzy Hair

Hello Everyone,

I need your help today!! I am going through a bad hair phase and looking forward to replace my current Hair Care regime with something that can actually work on improving the texture of my hair, so that I can see a visible bounce and shine in my hay like hair.

  • There have few options that are doing the rounds in my head but I am not sure which one to pick up next because there is a huge confusion between the Herbal and Chemical ones, I am feeling so divided here.
  • Also, price is a major factor as the ones I am eying are definitely going to burn a hole in my pocket. I am done with the usual drugstore and want something good and efficient for my dry tresses.

I am really not able to decide about what next shampoo should I go for and hence calling “Reader’s Helpline” to share their experience and current hair care regime which they are happy with!

Anyways the options that are looking promising to me are:

  1. L’Oreal Professional Hair Spa Detoxifying Shampoo (Rs. 400 for 236 ml) – The salon range shampoo from L’Oreal. I haven’t tried any of these, so not sure what to expect from them but seems to be doing job fro dry hair ends.
  2. Schwarzkopf Bonacure Fibre Force Shampoo (Rs 675 for 200 ml) – This one has been strongly recommended by my friend but the only case of concern here is it is not a herbal one. Though I am planning to buy this next!
  3. Sebastian Professional Hydre Shampoo (Rs.1200 for 250ml) – It is also a Salon range shampoo, available in Affinity salons but I don’t have one nearby my place. The range seems to do wonders for dry hair but again it is loaded with chemicals
  4. Kiehl’s Superbly Smoothing Argan Shampoo (Rs. 1390 for 250ml) – Another luxury product for hair but form Kiehl’s. I have read some amazing reviews about Kiehl’s skin care range but owing to their prices, never got a chance to try them though the shampoo looks really good for dry tresses!
  5. Macadamia Oil Rejuvenating shampoo (Rs 1260 for 300 ml) and Macadamia Natural Oil Deep Repair Masque (Rs 900 for 97ml) – This one is truly like a luxury treatment for my dry tresses. The more I am reading about this, the more I am tempted to buy it. All natural, with a large amount of herbal oils leaving hair smooth, shiny, bouncy and what not! I really want to have the whole range with me. Also, Macadamia range is not easily available in India other than Amazon.in and may be few other shopping portals.

Okay, this is my wish list of shampoos/haircare products that I am planning to get for my dry frizzy hair but which one to start with. Any input or feedback on the products will be much appreciated and would be passing flying kisses 😉

  • Even I am planning to go with Schwarzkopf Bonacure next, though it may not even be a tiny bit close to nature :)

    • yeahh.. they are not herbal but i really want to try something from salon range that actually works on my hair :P

  • Absolute repair masque by loreal worked very well to calm down my frizzy hair. Buy one tub and you're set for 6 months easy

    • Thanks for recco Ritu..adding that in my wishlist as well...

You use it as a conditioner or a hair mask? As i am pretty lazy with masks i might end up using it as conditioner only! :P

    • I am yet to try l'oreal but I fear if i go back to them after macadamia.. so keeping the best for the last ;)

    • Thats amazing dear. I have that in my wishlist and cant wait to haul the whole range ;)

Where did u buy these from?

    • Dove didnt worked for me but Tresemme was quite nice.. I liked it smooth and shine version!!

Now I want to switch to one of the Salon professional range! :D

  • I had very dry hair and tried different options, one of them was macadamia conditioner that did not work out at all for me and think it will work when used with its range of shampoo. The shampoo that I worked well for my dry hair is The Body Shop Rainforest moisture shampoo and it works best when I have oiled my hair for atleast 30 minutes - 1 hour. Bringadi oil from kama ayurveda works well for dry hair and this combo makes my hair healthy and gives a natural shine, but does not give the super shiny sleek look that the silicone based ones gives, but my hair is much better in quality with the less chemical laded options. I am planning to buy the TBS rainforest hair butter as I do not get time to oil my hair always and the rainforest conditioner is a complete dud, did not work.

    • Hey Preethy.. ahh thats bad that the conditioner alone didnt worked well or you... At the price tag I expect it to work with any shampoo..

I have used that TBS shampoo and it did work well for my dry tresses but now i want to try something else.. problem of a bblogger you know :P ..
I got few samples of bringadi oil with me.. now i will use them and see if they work for my dry tresses.

The TBS hair butter is amazing you must try it.. it makes hair smooth shiny and just so lovelyy!! <3.. ahh i was saved i opted for TBS hair butter than conditioner ;)

    • kiehl's one sounds so nourishing no.. Never tried their products but would love to start with this :D

  • Try the Om Ved shampoo. I'm speaking from personal experience since it has really worked beautifully for my hair. Haven't tried their conditioners yet but heard they are great.
Also try the Rusk Sensories Wellness Bedew deep conditioning treatment. I use it mostly as a normal conditioner and it is fabulous. Both of these have really helped my dry frizzy hair.
And yes, most importantly, I stopped using chemical colours for my greatly and went back to henna + indigo.

    • Hey Dollie.. Never thought of adding Omved shampoos but thanks for recco I would surely be giving them a try. I will get a shmpoo +conditioner combo now.. so convinced now ;)

Never heard of this brand but if you recoomend I am going to look for it and buy it !! :D

I dont color my hair as of now .. but Heena does help in improving the texture of teh hair..

  • sebastian range is good, you can purchase it from fabbag.com...loreal spa salon range is also great.. :)

    • Thanks for recco dear.. never tried that range but adding to my wishlist!! :D
