Covergirl Perfect Blend Eye Pencil Black Brown Review
Today I will be reviewing another eye liner from Covergirl, Covergirl Perfect Blend Eye Pencil in Black Brown.
Product Claims: Our classic liner with blending power. For a defined look, draw a precise line; for a smoky look, softly smudge with the plush blender tip.
Direction for Use:-
- Before applying liner, determine your eye shape. If eyes are close-set or round, line only the outer corners. Otherwise, rim the entire upper lid.
- Gently pull your eyelid taut at an upward angle. Beginning at the inner corner, draw small, connected dashes along the top lashes. Be sure to stay close to the roots so there is no skin visible between the lashes and the liner.
- To make eyes look bigger, extend the liner slightly beyond the outer corners.
- Soften the line with a sponge tip or cotton swab by rubbing it slightly up and out at the outer corners.
- Finish the look with powder shadow and two coats of mascara.

My experience with Covergirl Perfect Blend Eye Pencil Black Brown:-
Black Brown is a dark coffee brown shade with subtle copper undertones and has a bit of taupe too. The liner is free from shimmers and doesn’t have any sheen but rather has a mattyfying finish. The liner looks quite natural and gives a soft appearance to eyes compared to its Basic Black sister.
The texture is smooth and creamy not buttery soft though. It glides on lids with slight tugging but isn’t bothersome. The liner has a good color payoff and shows its true color in 2-3 swipes on lids. I love to wear this liner on lower lash line by smudging it lightly with the blending tip. The liner smudges really well and doesn’t disappear when smudged but give a soft smudged eye look. It wears well as a liner and smudges a lot lesser than basic black. It wears on easily for 5-6 hours with slight smudging/fading but fades off significantly by end of day. However, it doesn’t work on waterline for me as it hardly shows up and fades off pretty fast too.
I haven’t been able to draw thin lines with Faces Long wear eye pencils but I can draw crisp, thin lines easily with these Covergirl Perfectblend eye pencils. Covergirl eye pencils aren’t as cream as Faces Long Wear Eye liners and hence don’t require frequent sharpening.

- Smooth creamy texture
- Glides nicely on lids with slight tugging
- Decently Pigmented
- Smudges well
- Reasonably priced
- Draw thin lines easily
- Tip doesn’t break
- Doesn’t require frequent sharpening
Cons of Covergirl Perfect Blend Eye Pencil – Basic Black:-

Recommendation:- Covergirl Perfect Blend Eye Pencil in Black Brown is great natural looking medium-brown shade in matte finish. The creamy formula goes on smoothly without melting and the soft blending tip works well at giving me that soft smokey eye effect. The color doesn’t lasts whole and smudges/fades by time but would stay pretty much intact if you stay indoors or have a 9 to 5 white collar job like me. It stays better than basic black and is totally worth the money. Recommended!
Rating:- 4/5
