Today I am reviewing my ever eyebrow product, I had a pencil too in my list but that went OOS stock so I could get my hands on this one only, the NYX Cosmetics Eyebrow Cake Powder – Dark Brown/Brown.

Product Claims: Our recipe for cooking up exquisite eyebrows includes wax, tools and a pair of complementary powders, which can be customized to create the ideal shade. Each Eyebrow Cake Powder kit includes a slanted brush and a round wand to shape, style and tame eyebrows.

Eyebrow cake powder is a duo-shade compact kit that fills and defines eyebrows for that classy retro look. Blend shades for a natural eyebrow coverage to create the best look.

Packaging:- NYX Eye brow cake powder comes in a sleek rectangular shaped case with a transparent glass lid which opens side wise. It comes with a round-pan filled with the wax and has two square pans with a dark and slightly lighter shade as brow powder. The tiny case comes handy while travelling also doesn’t require you to carry brushes separately as two tiny brushes are already provided with the packaging. The round brush helps in combing the brow hair and applying the wax while the slanted tip to fill in the color.

My experience with NYX Eyebrow Cake Powder- Dark Brown/Brown:-

I am sure every one of you has experienced this at least once in life, when that “Parlour waali aunty” messed up with the brow shape and made it either too thin or shaped both of them differently. I had faced it almost every time I changed place or that aunty got replaced with a new one but not any more. I have taken the things in my hands and doing eyebrows myself (…still learning though). Earlier, I used to consider myself incompetent to use the brow grooming products but since I have started doing them on my own, why not groom them with the right products for a tidy, shapely look.

First of all, I would like to tell that I have dark black brow hair and prefer thick brow shapes. I wouldn’t have required the brow filler at all if they had been in a good shape but mistakes are bound to happen. Sometimes, hair got plucked from incorrect places and here goes the eye brow shape and if you have to rush to a party..Damn!!!! that’s where the Brow Grooming or can I say brow Shapers come into picture.

NYX Eyebrow Cake Powder is a complete package to redefine your brows. Start with that tiny mascara like brush comb brow hair and then pickup some wax and roll the brush over brows, this will prepare the base for your powder application. Next, dab the slanted tip brush lightly on any of the shade of brow powder and start filling your brows. The powder is extremely pigmented so pick only a little at a time. The thick, firmly packed bristles of the slanted tip brush gives a smooth application.

The color goes well with my eye brows and I can shape and fill in the sparse places without making brows looking unnaturally dark. If brow pencils make your brows look too thick or dark try this powder as you can control the intensity quite easily.

Swatch–

There is no fallout or whatsoever during application and it wears really well. I applied it in the morning and it was very well there in the morning with barely any fading and no-smudging at all. I am highly impressed with the finish, formula and staying of this cake powder.

EOTD-

2. Wax is almost half of the powder quantity which will finish soon but no sooner than a year
3. Require few minutes of practice 🙂

Recommendation:- NYX Eyebrow Cake Powder is a fabulous product and does a great job at enhancing the shapes of my eyebrows. Dark Brown/Brown shade powder looks much natural than any of the pencils and I find it easy to control the intensity of the color while shading the brow area. Use the wax to comb and tame those unruly stiff hair and follow with slanted tip brush carrying the brow powder to do the filling and shaping brows in the desired manner.

The staying power again is commendable as it lasts whole day on me without smudging and minimal fading. The Dark brown compliments my skin tone really well and I am sure it will work with most of the medium-fair/medium-dark skin tones. It is available in such a wide range of shades that will easily accommodate almost every skin color.

Nicely shaped brows can make a significant difference to your appearance and enhances the overall look. I am glad I gave this kit a try, which is going to last me forever. Highly Recommended!
