My experience with L’Occitane Immortelle Brightening Shield SPF 40 :–
I couldn’t really make out whether it is a day cream or sunscreen by just looking at the packaging but when I cut-open the sample and pressed out the content, I was sure that it is sunscreen only. It is a yellowish-white creamy liquid in runny consistency which reminds me of sunscreens only. The texture of the cream feels light and spreads nicely over the skin. It doesn’t create any oily or sticky layer on skin but immerse so quickly that I wouldn’t know if I had applied it at the first place. It doesn’t goes completely matte but settles to a slight dewy finish and was lightly hydrating to my dry skin. It felt just like a primer on skin imparting the same smoothness and evenness. Its texture and color reminds me of the Lotus SPF 50 Sunblock but unlike Lotus it doesn’t leave any uncomfortable sticky layer behind. The fragrance was similar to the Essential water from the Immortelle range with the same mildness and exoticness.
The sunscreen not only protects skin from harmful UV radiations but also claims to have anti-ageing properties which will simultaneously work on your skin fighting free radical and infusing a youthful glow to your skin.

Pros of L’Occitane Immortelle Brightening Shield SPF40:-
- Absorbs easily
- Leaves no white cast
- Evens out skin texture
- Feels light on skin
- Doesn’t makes skin oily or sticky
- Slightly hydrating to my dry skin
- Can be used as a makeup base
- Mild yet exotic herbal smell
- Claims to have anti-ageing properties
Cons of L’Occitane Immortelle Brightening Shield SPF40:-
- Only the price for me again, it’s damn expensive.
Recommendation:- L’Occitane Immortelle Brightening Shield SPF40 protects skin agains harmful UV rays but wouldn’t make you sweat or leave you with a shiny white face. It doesn’t feel heavy on skin and blend out nicely. It has light texture which gets absorbed quickly and doesn’t feel sticky. It wouldn’t hurt if I totally skip the moisturizer underneath, in summers even though I have a dry skin. I liked its light-weight feel on the skin and the dewy finish but Rs3500 for a sunscreen is HUGE and that too 30ml quantity, definitely over-priced.
Can think of buying it only during SALE/offers with no less than 50% discount: P.
Rating:- 4.5/5
