Lakme Nine to Five Intense Shine Eye Liner – Olive Review, Swatches, EOTD

Lakme Nine to Five Intense Shine Eye Liner – Olive Review, Swatches, EOTD

First Eyeliner that I have ever used was from our household brand Lakme, the “Lakme Insta Liner”. I really liked the matte finish of the liner but one thing that made me go nuts was the time it takes to dry completely. It was such a horror if I went wrong with the application but that also helped me to draw the lines perfectly so as to avoid any mess. After perfecting the art of eyeliner application, I wanted to have a quick drying liner. Though pencil liners were another options but I loved the finish of liquid liners so much that I wasn’t ready to switch to them.

I quite liked the “Lakme Nine to Five Intense Shine Eye Liner-Black” for its quick drying property but was bored of the regular black liner on eyes and really wanted to indulge into colors. So the next time I visited Lakme counter, I asked the SA to show me all the available colored liners. I could have bought all of them but before diving into the colored liners, I wanted to give them a try to see if I really would be also to carry them. So, I chose “Lakme Nine to Five Intense Shine Eye Liner-Olive” to start with.

Product Claims: Create smoldering eyes in just one stroke with this color intense lustrous eyeliner that stays true for hours.

Direction for Use:-

  • Step 1
Line your eyes in one single stroke on the upper lid from the inner side of the eye to the outer side. Let it dry.
  • Step 2
Line your lower lid from the outer edge, tapering to the inner corner of the eye.

Available Shades:-

Price:- Rs.245 for 4.5ml

Packaging:-The liner comes in a sleek cylindrical plastic bottle. The bottle appears to be see-through and shows the shade of the liner but I wasn’t able to see the amount of the liquid left in the. The long sleek applicator has a brown handle and a long wand. The brush is thin which makes it easy to create thin lines and the bristles are densely packed to give an even application.

My experience with Lakme 9 to 5 Intense Shine Eye Liner – Olive :-

Shade:-Olive is a beautiful green shade with lots of green shimmer particles. The shimmers are extremely fine and mixed well with the liquid. The tiny shimmer particles are not at all felt during application but give a nice metallic shine to the liner. It is only because of these shimmers that the liner reflects a hint of sea-green shade

Texture/Consistency:-The formula of Lakme Nine to Five Eye Liner is slightly runny but gets applied with precision with the thin brush provided. The thing that I love in this liner is that the liquid doesn’t move or slid off the applied area even if applied heavily. No matter how thickly you apply the liner it will stay put on the applied area only.

Pigmentation:-I have no issues with the color pay off of the liner. The liner is well-pigmented and gives enough color in single stroke but still I go for 2 strokes for the intensified color.

Swatches:-

Application:-The liner glides easily over the eyes without giving cracky application but it does crease up within few minutes of application. However, the creasing is not significant and looks even from a distance. The best part is even if you go wrong with the application just wait for few seconds till it gets dry and then rub off, it comes of completely and won’t leave any traces of color or shimmers. You can even use a wet tissue and clear it off. No mess around the eyes and hence no need to go for complete clean up.

EOTD:-

Dry Time:- The not so good part of this liner is that it makes me cry each time I apply it near the lashes. The liner gives a strong burning sensation even if gets slightly on the inner side of the lid. The sensation is just for 3-4 seconds till it gets dry but each second passes like an hour with this on eyes. Now, I have adjusted to live with it but sensitive/watery eyes might hate this.

The liner have an added advantage of being smudge-proof. The liner stays good for long and refuses to budge even after full day application.

Don’t Miss to Checkout:

Cons of Lakme Nine to Five Eye Liner Intense Shine Eye Liner – Olive:-

  1. Gives strong burning sensation till gets dry. So, not suitable for contact lens users and sensitive eyes
  2. Doesn’t mention ingredients list, so I don’t know what I am putting on my eyes that causes burning sensation
  3. Liner gets creased up on eye but thankfully no cracks.

Recommendation:- Lakme Nine to Five Intense Shine eye liner-Olive is really a good and affordable liner. The brush is thin and long which makes creating thin lines a cake walk.

The beautiful green color with subtle shimmers and metallic sheen looks pretty on eyes and can be worn easily. It is a smudge-proof and water-resistant liner which stays long. I like this liner a lot except the burning part. If you are okay with burning sensation then it can be given a try
