Hi Poo,
I have been following your blog for quite some time and must say that its really helpful for people like me who doesn’t have much exposure to all these beauty related stuffs.
Let me introduce myself.
I am Lakshmi. Age: 26
I work as a software professional.
I have some queries related to basic makeup. I am not so sure about the beauty products available as well as i dunno how to match it for my skin shade and texture. I really need your help from you in choosing an appropriate daily office wear make up kit .
I have not used any other cosmetic other that “Lakme radiant compact : natural coral”
My Complexion: Dusky to dark
Face texture: Normal to dry after bath and it tend to become little bit oily gradually down the day.
Have very few dark spots here and there. Other than that I have a clear face. I really need your suggestion on what all products I need to use for a daily makeup as my compact doesn’t give me a long lasting perfect look . My face tend to look very dull by end of the day.
I need to know which all products i should choose along with the shades including foundation, compact, concealer, eye liner, eye lasher, blush, lipstick, lip gloss, eye shadow etc etc …..for creating a perfect look.
Also could you please tell me whether Lakme CC cream “bronze” will suite for my skin complexion because , I have failed to select the perfect shade for foundation in last few attempts and dropped the hunt for it.
TIA
Lakshmi
Hey Lakshmi…

Thanks a lott sweteiee for your lovely words..
I am a software professional too..
For daily wear I will suggest a light coverage foundation (depending on ur budget.. let me know how much you wanna spend) or go for CC/BB cream (Bourjois recently launched one)
Get a compact for controlling oil, I will suggest Revlon Touch and glow Gold Matte.
For concealer Colorbar Pencil concealer in Almond or L’Oreal True Match Concealer in Medium or Dark will do.
For blushes, Lakme and oclorbar have some wearbale shade i will suggest (peachy pink and rosey pink to start).
For lipsticks depends if you like brights or natural / gloss or matte though Maybelline, colorbar, Revlon have lots of option to choose from.
Eyeshadows INGLOT Refills are the best.. let me know what all shade u are looking for but some basic neutrals/golden/browns will be great..
if you want I can help you with numbers as well.
You can go for colored eye liners from Faces or Krylon and a Kohl too..
I think it will go u can try on counters as it adapts to the skin really well..
Hope this helps ..:)
Hi Poonam,
Thank you so much for your comments. Good to know that we are in to same profession…
For foundation you have asked for budget. Budget is not a constraint can go up to 2k. I want to find out a perfect shade for my face. Every time its a failure for me when it come to foundation and concealer selection. Whatever I take , its not bending well into my face and leave a separate layer over my face.
I also wanted to know how gel eyeliners are different from liquid liners. Also want to know whether lakme CC cream bronze will suit my face.. (You mentioned in one of your post you used lakme CC cream bronze and it was perfect on your face. But am much darker than you… :):)

Hi Poonam,
I went through a few of your posts, and loved them.
Can you please post some herbal/medicated shampoo conditioner reviews. My hair is dry and frizzy, and since the time I moved to Mumbai its all the more frizzy due to humidity.
Looking forward to your reply.
Thanks
Hey Shruti,
I havent tried many herbal shampoos for dry hair but I guess Forest Essentials have one but its expensive.
You can try the Patanjali coconut one too as it’s sulphate free so will be less drying, just follow with a conditioner (Will review it soon on blog). there are few more from Khadi, Aloe Veda but not sure how they perform.
