Maybelline Color Sensational Moisture Extreme Lipstick – Iced Orchid Review, Swatches, LOTD

I was quite skeptical of bright lip colors till I tried the Maybelline Jewels Lipsticks in Rubylicious and Berry Brilliant. So, Today I am going to review another bright lip color from my vanity again from Maybelline but this time from the Maybelline Moisture Extreme collection and its Maybelline Color Sensational Moisture Extreme Lipstick in “Iced Orchid”.

Product Claims: Fall in love with color, all over again: Crisp Color from pure color pigments

  • Creamy Feel, with a built in lip balm
  • SPF 15 for sun protection
  • 16 Captivating Shades

Direction for Use:- Expert Tip:- Apply your lipstick by starting in the center of your lip. Work from the center to the outer edges of your lip for a gorgeously perfect finish.

Price:- Rs.250 for 4 gm

Shelf Life:-  30 months from the Mfg date.

My experience with Maybelline Moisture Extreme Lipstick – Iced Orchid:-

Shade: Iced Orchid is a bright magenta pink shade with plum tones. The lipstick has oozes of smooth purple shimmers that radiate rich purple color. The shade instantly adds color to the face.

Formula:- The formula is as smooth as the other moisture extreme lipsticks and the bullet slips nicely over the lips but it isn’t thick or buttery. The soft texture of the lipstick feels extremely light on lips and it doesn’t go cakey even with multiple swipes unlike other Moisture Extreme Lipsticks

Pigmentation:- The lipsticks isn’t very pigmented  and need at least 3-4 swipes to get an opaque coverage but I am happy with how it comes up on lips. The lipstick gives a glossy watery shine to the lips and performs as some pigmented lip gloss rather than a lipstick.

Staying:- The glossy finish doesn’t last long but the color survives for 4-5 hours with a few snacks in between .Iced Orchid is pretty good at staining and leaves a pretty pinky plummish stain on lips.

Pros of Maybelline Color Sensational Moisture Extreme Lipstick – Iced Orchid:-

  1. Stunning bright magenta lip color with purple hue.
  2. Glides smoothly
  3. Decently pigmented
  4. Never look cakey
  5. Gives a nice glossy finish to the lips
  6. Doesn’t settle into fine lines
  7. Staying power is pretty good as it leaves a lovely tint behind.
  8. Wide shade selection
  9. Affordable

Cons of Maybelline Color Sensational Moisture Extreme Lipstick – Iced Orchid:-

  1. Not moisturizing but hydrating to the lips
  2. It is bright pink lip color and might be bit difficult to carry by everyone.

Recommendation:- Maybelline Color Sensational Moisture Extreme Lipstick – Iced Orchid is a vibrant fuschia pink shade with purple shimmers that gives it a rich glossy shine. The smooth creamy formula glides effortlessly over lips but texture of the lipstick is slightly different from the regular ones. It feels light on lips giving them a healthy hydrating look and never turns cakey.

I have never been a fan of such bright shimmery lip colors and totally hated this shade at first glance. I wore it after almost a month convincing just for review purpose but fallen in love with it after that. The shade would look beautiful on all skin tones and perfect for parties or special occasion where it let your lips do all the talking.

Hey Shalini.. the lipstick has a sheer-glossy formula..
so wear it in a tone down version with only 1-2 swipes and it will look great.. Do give it a try .. Iced Orchid will make suitable pink lippy for dusky skin tones..
      Hope this helps.. 🙂
