Doubts Discussion: Does Bleaches lighten skin as well?

From Ameena,

I have read your review on Olivia Herbal Bleach,to what extent did it lighten your skin. I have literally spent so much money on bleaches and they didn’t lighten my skin at all. I want to know if this product will really make me fair with regular use ?

Do you know of any bleaches that lighten the skin?

Me:

Hey Ameena,

I have used the Olivia Herbal Bleach for lightening my facial hair and it did a fairly good job. It worked well in turning them to skin color making my facial skin appear lighter..
I couldn’t comment if it can make you look fairer or lighten your skin as bleach is basically used for lightening facial hair only.
There are tan cleaners available in the market which can help in removing the tan and make your skin look a bit lighter but no idea about skin lightening from bleaches.
Do you use bleaches for facial hair or skin lightening? Any favorite bleach/tan cleaner?Β
Do you think bleaches can lighten facial skin?

Oh yes.. I never believed it.. but when i used oxy bleach on my upper lips, i could actually see the difference.. it lightened my upper lip area 2 tone and then I applied the bleach all over my face. πŸ˜› i also used it on my hands πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜‰ So, i think bleach removes tan. πŸ˜‰

Bleach Can Only Help You Lighten Your Skin To The Extent The Shade Chart You Are Born With, Not Beyond That..Certainly Not What Adds Show πŸ˜›

They Help In Removing Tan, So Yes Skin Does Gets Lightened a Bit and With Continuous Usage of Sun Protection.. A Hell Lot Tan Can be Removed As Well As Prevented πŸ™‚

Yes, I Use Bleach Since I’ve a Lot Of Facial Hair But Restrict It to Maximum 4 Times a Year

The bleach which is most effective, fast working and yet safe enough for a sensitive skin like mine,in my opinion is avon care oxy white facial bleach! I started using bleach to lighten my facial hairs as i cant pluck hairs from my face,i have a very sensitive skin…ive tried a few bleaches available in the beauty centre..they helped bleaching n lightening my facial hair but i would always get an eruption on my face or uneven skin texture post bleaching…but still i was using them once in 2-3 months for facial hair lightening…and then i came to know about avon’s bleach launch and i tried it immediately..and the results were quiet satisfactory! Very effective facial hair lightening in 5mins, It dint break my skin out,no patchines or drying of facial skin post bleaching…also it has improved my skin tone over a period of 10months and 6times of usage..also a very less quantity is used, one pack (worth 159rs) can be used about 4times for a medium sized face..and you can also get it at offer/discount sometimes.

Bleaches indeed remove tan effectively, and thus lighten skin tone, but not more than your original one.
I’ve used Olivia and Fem bleaches (both normal one and the haldi one). These work just fine.
I was keen to try the oxylife gel bleach, but even the reviews were not good.
Niha, you’ve tempted me to try the Avon one.. πŸ˜›

Yes dear do try it..i have a oily to combination skin and my skin is quiet sensitive..any harsh ingredient reacts on my skin very easily..but this avon bleach is really effective and mild as well, just dont over use the powder activator πŸ™‚ keep in touch dear..my email (simply.different916@gmail.com)

I had the same doubt. I have used bleach on my hands and feet once and I did see a visible difference in the skin tone but then it doesn’t last that long. Just a couple of days.

    • poonamNovember 30, 2013 at 7:10 AM - Reply

Hey Swati.. Even I used to think the same way.. but the fact is .. its only the disappearance of black color hair that make the skin look fairer and once that goes away.. the skin gets back to its original shade.. πŸ˜‰

Bleach lightens up your skin tone and makes you look fair and yeah I totally agree the fairness lasts only a few days

    • poonamNovember 30, 2013 at 7:07 AM - Reply

Yes dear..actually it just lightens the facial hair that gives u an illusion of cleaner and brighter skin tone.. hence u look fair.. πŸ™‚ ..

I have always been scared to try bleach products but this sounds interesting.

    • poonamNovember 30, 2013 at 7:06 AM - Reply

U dont need one dear.. πŸ˜‰ .. I have facial hair that why I have to use it.. πŸ™‚

  9. Heena CNovember 30, 2013 at 10:29 AM - Reply

I have used oxy bleach and jolen. Both of them gave me temporary brightness.Oxy didnt even bleach my hair but fem is good. And its true that bleaching effect lasts only for few days.So they don’t really help lighten the skin.

    • poonamDecember 7, 2013 at 10:32 PM - Reply

Oxy didnt worked for me as wel.. the bleaching effect isnt great.. Jolen is slightly strong.. but fem works great!!
yes dear.. beach is only for facial hair.. nothing more.. πŸ™‚

    • poonamDecember 8, 2013 at 7:06 AM - Reply

Me too dear.. Before i started with threading them.. now i use it once in a while to bleach my facial hair.. πŸ˜‰
and yes lightening of skin using bleaches is not true!!

you guys should really stop trying to become lighter…be proud of the skin color you are born with…

    • poonamDecember 8, 2013 at 9:23 AM - Reply

Hey Adi.. We are just discussing the doubts here.. being lighter doesnt mean we arent happy with the color of our skin.. but it can be a case wheer we get tanned and want to achieve our original skin color fast.. Everybody has it likes and dislikes and we should respect that! πŸ™‚
